What is Insulating Castable?

Insulating castable is a kind of refractory concrete.It is very lightweight and have low thermal conductivity,low density.

Insulating castable have various grade,which produced with different raw materials,the usual raw materials such as perlite,vermiculite,lightweight clay aggregate,lightweight mullite aggregate or bubble alumina,mixed with bonding agents and admixtures.

Insulating castable is designed for backup insulation linings of boilers,industrial kilns,flues and other low temperature area,to prevent the loss of heat and save energy.Because of its low density nature,it reduce the weight of supporting steelwork in furnace.

Low Temperature Insulating Castable

Lightweight clay based insulation castable is also called low temperature lightweight castable,the density is 0.8-1.5 g/cm3,with service temperature 800-1100 degrees,mainly used as backup lining in boiler.

Medium Temperature Insulating Castable & Gun

Lightweight mullite castable density is 1.2-1.5g/cm3,it temperature is higher than lightweight clay castable,and could be used in higher temperature area required in kiln or furnace.

High Temperature Insulating Castable & Gun

Bubble alumina castable density is 1.5-1.6g/cm3,with service temperature 1700℃.It have higher strength and lower iron content than lightweight clay castable,lightweight mullite castable.Can be used in carbon black reaction furnace and high temperature durable layer in specific inner lining.
